Relationship

Fly the nest

My little birdie, all set to fly

Eighteen years, past hatch-out

As she steps, on the last of teens

To fly the nest, to build her nest

Cherubic smiles,those lit my life

Trickling tears, that broke my heart

Temper tantrums, just drove me mad

My grips too tight, which gave her hives

To hold her safe, but cuffed her moves

Through her teens, friends we were

We shared our shirts, we shared our shoes

Jokes and chats, that made us laugh

Her idle babbles, now make sense

Daunting debates, on serious notes

I doubt if I , was harsh on her

Not good enough, to keep her warm

Yes I admit , yes I did

Tried and tested, my skills on her

To bring her up, to make her strong

Though not sure, I did it right

As I wish her, all the good

Let me pray, she never will

Cease to be, a child forever

Laugh out loud , it brightens your day

Cry it out , it lightens your heart

May you binge, in dreaming big

May your wings ,chase your dreams

May you be, a go-getter

Gently though ,to hurt no one

Reserve your fights, to pull yourself

Out from those, tricky traps

That might in life, come your way

All I wish, to say is that

Be yourself, and never change

Trust yourself , love yourself

Gift your soul, the best pamper

You don’t need, to make me proud

But make yourself, proud of you

Empty nest, won’t make me sad

Withered womb, won’t let me weep

Because I see, you flying high

To reach for stars, with charming grace!

Here is the blue butterfly: Blue, the color, chosen by the sky and the sea, that gives space to be imaginative, intuitive and inspiring. Butterfly, a simple soul, bright and blissful, light and joyous, bringing hope. Believes in "Lagom", not too much, not too little, just right ...the perfect-simple!!!

This beautiful poem openly touches the feelings that most parent -children go through in their relationship and the fun and tough aspects as children grow up.
